From "The History of Outgamie County"

"Charles Rogers Blanshan was nine years old when his parents moved to
Iowa, and he was brought up to the life of a farmer. He continued at home
with his parents until two years after his marriage, when he came to Seymour
township and purchased his present farm, an excellent tract of eighty acres
(to which he has added another twenty acres) which then was a stretch of
stumpy land on which there were a log barn and a small shack. It has taken
years of hard labor for Mr. Blanshan to transform this apparently worthless
property into a fine, productive farm, with its set of modern, substantial
buildings, well kept lawns and flowing pastures, but the result has been
worth labor expended. Together with his son, who is his partner under the
firm name of C. R. Blanshan and Son, he raises thoroughbred Oxford down
sheep, Poland-China hogs and Holstein cattle. He has been a member of
the school board for three years, and he and his wife are stanch members of
the Church. Mr. Blanshan is interested in Sunday school work and is
president of the International Sunday School County Association.
On April 2, 1890, Mr. Blanshan was united in marriage with Flora Eliza
Tubbs, daughter of Peter Tubbs. She was born July 17, 1871. Mr. and Mrs.
Blanshan have one child, a son, Peter Jacob, who is associated with his
father."

Charles and Flora had the following children:

Peter Jacob - born September 30, 1891 in Seymour, Outgamie County,
Wisconsin. He married Hattie "Fern" Russell, daughter of George Edward
Russell and Mary Ann Coy, born October 6, 1887 in Calumet, Wisconsin.
Peter died December 17, 1935 at age 44 and Hattie died April 20, 1983 in
Green Bay, Wisconsin. Peter and Fern had six children: Russell (1914),
Grace (Wilbert Proulx) (1916), Dorothy (1918), Ralph (1920), Harold (1923)
and Jean (1923). (See

Seymour -- A large modern residence will soon be completed on the farm of
Charles J. Blanshan, north of this city on the site of the old home destroyed
by fire with a large part of its contents on August 7 (1929). Since the fire, the
family has been living in a new machine shed remodeled for the purpose. At
the time of the fire, the first steps in the construction of the machine shed
had been taken and when necessity became master, the design of the shed
was changed to that of a temporary residence. The new residence contains
ten rooms, is two stories high, and is under a bungalow roof of attractive
design.
